Obviously you can’t go to a housewarming party empty-handed, so this afternoon I put together a somewhat random mix in the kitchen so I could arrive at my college friends’ party bearing baked goods.
I got a little creative with different cookies and brownies and ended up with a pretty amazing chocolate chip oatmeal cookie brownie mix.
Wow, that’s a mouthful!
I started with these three boxes:
1. Betty Crocker Fudge Brownies
2. Fatboy’s Cookie Dough – Chocolate Chunk
3. Fatboy’s Cookie Dough – Oatmeal Raisin
First, I let the cookie dough thaw while mixing the brownies as instructed on the box.
I then molded the chocolate chip cookies into the bottom of a sprayed baking pan, making sure to spread them over the entire thing.
Next, I poured the brownie batter on top.
Following that, I rolled the oatmeal cookie dough into balls and dropped them into the brownie mix.
I baked the cookie-brownie concoction in the oven (pre-heated to 350 degrees) for about 27 minutes.
After letting them cool, I cut them into squares and transferred them to a serving dish.
The center brownies were still a little undercooked, exactly how I like them, but if you don’t want gooey brownies, I would suggest cooking them approximately 30-32 minutes.
Only the very center pieces were underdone though, so watch carefully as to not burn the outer ones!
I definitely recommend trying these!! But only make them when you have someplace to take them – you for sure don’t want these sitting unattended in your kitchen!
Exactly why I saved only one and took the rest for everyone else to enjoy!
This little guy isn’t going to be around for long!
